GCSE Results 2022

We are delighted with the strong set of examination results achieved this year which represent an improvement on the results achieved in 2019, pre-pandemic. Congratulations to our fabulous students, your achievements are well deserved.

We are immensely proud of our students at The Woodroffe School, and we wish them the very best for the future, whether staying on into our 6th Form or following pastures new. We continue to offer our full support and assistance to all students in the coming days and weeks, following the release of the GCSE and Level 2 results. These have been unprecedented times and together we succeed.

This has been a challenging year for all students and the ongoing disruption to education has again been most keenly felt by those taking their final exams this summer, the first to do so since 2019.

Woodroffe has a long track record of academic excellence and this year, despite the challenges, is no different. Our students have achieved strongly across the full range of GCSE and Level 2 qualifications on offer and will continue to do so in the future.

We are delighted with the resilience and perseverance shown by our students, however, we also recognise the additional anxiety caused by the events of the past three years and thank our parents and carers for their continued support.

Our staff worked incredibly hard to ensure that our students have been cared for and have continued to receive the best education possible. We have ensured that students have been given every chance to succeed and pursue their chosen next steps.

Students should be reassured that the grades they have received today have been fully earned and are the result of their hard work, dedication, and perseverance.

Woodroffe 2022 82% 52% 54.53

In total our students achieved 78 grade 9s, 175 grade 8s and 253 grade 7s. A fantastic achievement.

Students studying the BTEC qualifications offered achieved 10 Pass, 6 Merit and 1 Distinction grade. Congratulations to all.

It was pleasing to see so many top grades across all subject areas and there were outstanding performances in:

Art, Biology, Chemistry, Classical Civilisation, Design Technology, Drama, History, Media Studies, Physics, and Religious Studies out of the 29 examination subjects on offer.

Most students will be staying to study at our successful 6th Form which achieved its best performance this year. Some students, however, will be leaving Woodroffe to take places at 6th Form, college, apprenticeships, and employment. We wish them well and are confident that they are on course to succeed in their chosen fields.

We are delighted that the school year ended positively and that students were able to experience some of the key moments in their ongoing development, it was fantastic to see them enjoying time together at prom and seeing them celebrate their success today.

This is an outstanding set of results, and every single student should be immensely proud of their achievements. I couldn’t be more impressed with their maturity and resilience, particularly during the examination period when they worked so well, remaining focused, driven, and supporting each other – it was wonderful to see. These results are a testament to their efforts, and I wish everyone the very best in their future endeavours. Congratulations year 11, you made it!
