GCSE Results 2025
This press release, following the publication of GCSE and Level 2 examination results for 2025, encapsulates the excellent achievements of our students.
The start of the exam period was incredibly challenging following the sad and unexpected passing of our Head of 6th Form and teacher of Geography, Mr Loveland. Our students should be especially proud of their achievements as we are of them.

We are delighted to celebrate another year of excellent examination results. Our sincere congratulations go to all our students — these achievements are a true reflection of their commitment, perseverance, and hard work throughout their courses. Our students should be immensely proud of their success, and we wish them every success for the future.

The Woodroffe School has a proud tradition of academic excellence, and this year’s results continue to uphold that standard, Woodroffe students do better. An impressive 75% of our students achieved at least a grade 4 in both English and Maths, with 55% securing a grade 5 or higher in both subjects — outcomes that place us once again well above national averages. Our students have excelled across the full range of GCSE and Level 2 qualifications, and we are confident they will continue to achieve great success in the years ahead.
We remain deeply impressed by the resilience and determination shown by our students, both in their academic studies and in the wider life of the school. At the same time, we recognise the challenges and anxieties that the examination process can bring, and we extend our sincere thanks to parents and carers for their ongoing support. Together, we share in this success.
Our dedicated staff have worked tirelessly to ensure that students were supported and continued to receive the highest quality education. Every effort has been made to provide them with the best opportunities to succeed and to follow their chosen pathways, and these excellent examination results are a testament to that commitment.
Our students have been outstanding, and they should take great pride in knowing that the grades received today are fully deserved — the result of their hard work, resilience, and dedication. We look forward to following their journeys and celebrating the successes that lie ahead. Congratulations to all; take time to enjoy today and look forward with confidence to the future.

Across the two years of study, many students made fantastic progress because of their hard work and commitment. Students making significant progress across their qualifications include – Sebastiano Mason, Joseph Broome, William Jones, Sophie Howard and Mia Graham.
Students identified by the Department for Education as SEND or Disadvantaged performed exceptionally well, with results showing a significant improvement on last year and once again exceeding national benchmarks.
We are delighted to see such a high number of top grades achieved across all subject areas. In Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Statistics, every student secured a grade 9 to 4, while in Art, Drama, Computer Science, English, Graphics, History, Mathematics, Music, and Science, over 80% of students achieved a grade 9 to 4. These exceptional results highlight the breadth of talent and commitment across our school community.
The majority of our students will continue their studies in our thriving Sixth Form, which itself celebrated another excellent set of results this year. Others will be moving on to pursue opportunities at colleges, apprenticeships, or in employment. We extend our very best wishes to all and are confident that they are well prepared to succeed in their chosen pathways.
Following the release of the GCSE and Level 2 results, we remain committed to offering our full support and guidance to all students in the weeks ahead.
