Rough Notes
As we move into the second half of the summer term, it has been wonderful to celebrate the many achievements of our students. One of the highlights was the Ten Tors challenge on Dartmoor, where students showed resilience, teamwork and determination while completing demanding routes across the moor. We are incredibly proud that our teams have continued the school’s remarkable 100% success rate. A huge thank you also goes to the staff who gave their time and support to make this unforgettable experience possible. We also look forward to celebrating our latest Headteacher’s Commendation winners in June, recognising students who consistently represent the very best of our school community.
There have also been many successes beyond the classroom. Sixth form students recently took part in a first aid session led by Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service, learning valuable life-saving skills including CPR. In sport, Helena achieved outstanding success at the South West Regional Swimming Championships, winning multiple medals and qualifying for national competitions. Our footballers also enjoyed fantastic results, with Exeter Central winning the U15 Devon County Cup, Exmouth Under-13s winning both the Devon League Cup and Devon FA County Cup, and Lyme Regis Under-14s winning the Exeter and District Cup Final on penalties.
Academic and future opportunities have also been celebrated this month. Students performed brilliantly in the Junior Maths Challenge, earning a range of bronze, silver and gold awards, while Year 10 enjoyed a successful Employability Day to help prepare them for the world of work. Year 13 students marked the start of study leave with their Leavers Breakfast, and we were delighted to welcome prospective families to our first Year 5 Open Morning. Thank you, as always, for your continued support of our school community as we head towards the final half-term of the year.
