Rough Notes - May 2026
As we move into the second half of the summer term, it has been wonderful to celebrate the many achievements of our students. One of the highlights was the Ten Tors challenge on Dartmoor, where students showed resilience, teamwork and determination while completing demanding routes across the moor.
We are incredibly proud that our teams have continued the school’s remarkable 100% success rate. A huge thank you also goes to the staff who gave their time and support to make this unforgettable experience possible. We also look forward to celebrating our latest Headteacher’s Commendation winners in June, recognising students who consistently represent the very best of our school community.
Summer Concert 2026
We have great pleasure in inviting parents and students to our Summer Concert, which is taking place in the main school hall on Thursday 18th June. The evening will begin at 6pm, with refreshments available throughout the evening courtesy of our fantastic PTA. Seating will be cabaret style so we can enjoy the music in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. It can get hot in the hall, so we will be opening all the doors but do please be mindful of this when booking ticket.
Tickets cost £4 per adult, £2 for students, and will be available via Wisepay. There is a limited number due to the change of layout, so please ensure you purchase tickets online before the evening and bring proof of purchase with you (we will have names on the door).
Performers are required to be at the hall by 5.30pm, gathering in the Old Gym. The doors will then open for the audience at 5.45pm.
We look forward to seeing you there!

GCSE Results 2025
The Woodroffe School has a proud tradition of academic excellence, and this year’s results continue to uphold that standard, Woodroffe students do better. An impressive 75% of our students achieved at least a grade 4 in both English and Maths, with 55% securing a grade 5 or higher in both subjects — outcomes that place us once again well above national averages. Our students have excelled across the full range of GCSE and Level 2 qualifications, and we are confident they will continue to achieve great success in the years ahead.
We remain deeply impressed by the resilience and determination shown by our students, both in their academic studies and in the wider life of the school. At the same time, we recognise the challenges and anxieties that the examination process can bring, and we extend our sincere thanks to parents and carers for their ongoing support. Together, we share in this success.
