Woodroffe has a proud tradition of academic excellence, and this year’s results once again reflect the high standards, aspiration and dedication that define our school. Across the full range of A Level and Level 3 qualifications, students have achieved remarkable outcomes, demonstrating both talent and perseverance. 

What continues to inspire us most is the commitment, resilience and personal growth shown by our students throughout their time with us. Their achievements extend far beyond examination results and reflect the character, determination and positive contribution they have made to our school community. 

These successes have also been made possible through the unwavering dedication of our staff, who work tirelessly to provide outstanding care, support and education. Their commitment ensures that every student is given the opportunity to flourish, fulfil their potential and confidently pursue their chosen pathway. 

To our incredible students, today belongs to you. Every grade earned reflects your hard work, dedication and perseverance. You have overcome challenges, embraced opportunities and achieved results of which you should be enormously proud. As you embark on the next chapter of your journey, do so with confidence, knowing that you have already demonstrated the qualities needed for future success.

As ever, there were some outstanding individual A-Level performances:

• Charlotte Bagwell – 3A* in Art, Geography and politics and will be studying Geography at Oxford University.
• Joseph Ford – 2A*, 1A &1B in English Literature, Maths, Further Maths and Politics and will be studying Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the Durham University.
• Freddie O’Dwyer – 2A*, 2A in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics and is currently considering his next steps.
• Elliot Speer – 2A*, 1A in Maths, Further Maths and Chemistry and is currently considering his next steps.
• Lily Coleman – 1A*, 1A, 1B in Psychology, English Literature and Biology and is currently considering her next steps.
• Mazie Fowler – 1A*, 2A, 1B in Art Graphics, Maths, Media Studies and Physics and will be studying Engineering at Exeter University.
• Sophie Smith – 1A*, 1A, 1B in History, Classical Civilizations and Biology and is currently considering her next steps.
• Rosie Vincent – 1A*, 2A in Geography, Maths and Art and is taking a gap year.
• Meggie Lenn – 2A, 1B in English Literature, Media Studies and Psychology and will be studying Media Studies, Journalism and Culture at Cardiff University.
• Lily Shannon – 2A, 1B in Art, Psychology and French and will be completing an Art foundation at Exeter.
• Henry Woolner – 2A, 1E in Art Graphics, Psychology and French and is currently considering his next steps.

Students who achieved at least one A*/A grade include Wilf Bolton-Smith, Daniel Dallaway, Lucy De Vere Hunt, Stella Ferrentino, Kai Kirby, Amber McDermott, Annabel Micklethwait, Tommy Mountjoy, Tom Rawlings, Maddison Richards, Ella Tytherleigh, Alice Watt and Anna Wolfreys.

It was pleasing to see so many top grades across all subject areas with 75% of all grades achieved being A*-C. There were outstanding performances in Art Graphics, English Literature, Maths and Further Maths, where over a third of the cohort achieved a grade A* – A. Our students really do benefit from having the widest range of post 16 qualifications available to them within the area.

Students also performed highly across our BTEC qualifications with Stella Ferrentino, Toby Legg-Wilde and Tom Rawlings achieving Distinction* and Philip Ballam, Jasmine Cornell, Maya Doan, Natasha Donald, Amy Knight, Annabel Micklethwait and Isaac Parris achieving Distinction grades.

Of the 35 students studying the EPQ qualification, 7 achieved an A*, 5 achieved an A and 77% achieved an A*-C grade.

Across the two years of study, many students made fantastic progress because of their hard work and commitment. Those students making significant progress across their qualifications include Lola Dent, Olivia Williams, Martha Paterson Stack, Lyra Mew, Rose Moorman and Alfred Tomlinson.

We are proud of them all and wish them good luck with their next adventures whether it’s studying at university, starting an apprenticeship or entering the world of work.
