GCSE Results 2026

We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate another year of exceptional examination results at The Woodroffe School. Our warmest congratulations go to all our students, whose achievements are a testament to their dedication, determination, and hard work throughout their studies. They should be enormously proud of everything they have accomplished, and we wish them every success and happiness as they embark on the next stage of their journey.

The Woodroffe School has a long-standing reputation for academic excellence, and this year’s results once again demonstrate that ‘Woodroffe students do better’.

We are delighted that 74% of our students achieved at least a grade 4 in both English and Maths, while an impressive 53% secured a grade 5 or above in both subjects. These outstanding outcomes place us significantly above national averages in key measures and reflect the high aspirations and achievements of our students. Across the full range of GCSE and Level 2 qualifications, students have excelled, producing results that we are incredibly proud of and that provide a strong foundation for future success.

What makes these achievements even more remarkable is the resilience, determination, and positive attitude our students have shown throughout their examination year. They have embraced challenges, supported one another, and approached their studies with maturity and commitment. We also recognise that examinations can be demanding, and we are deeply grateful to our parents and carers for the invaluable encouragement and support they have provided. Together, we achieve, together we thrive, and together we celebrate.

These results are also a reflection of the unwavering commitment of our staff, who have worked tirelessly to provide every student with the highest quality education, guidance, and care. Their dedication to ensuring that all students have the opportunity to flourish and pursue their chosen pathways has played a vital role in this success.

Today is a moment for our students to celebrate. Every grade awarded has been earned through hard work, perseverance, and ambition. They have been truly outstanding, and they should take great pride in all they have achieved. We look forward to following their future successes and celebrating the exciting opportunities and achievements that lie ahead.

As always, there were some truly exceptional individual performances, with over 40% of students achieving at least one grade between 9 and 7, a fantastic achievement that highlights the talent, dedication, and academic excellence within our school community.

Congratulations to every student. Enjoy this well-deserved success, celebrate your achievements, and look forward to the future with confidence, pride, and excitement.

Across the two years of study, many students made fantastic progress because of their hard work and commitment. Students making significant progress across their qualifications include – Ezekiel Isaia Cardoso, Kitty Blow, Freddie Pring, Arthur Buckingham and Chloe Flux.

We are especially proud of the outstanding achievements of our SEND and Disadvantaged students, whose results improved significantly on last year and once again exceeded national benchmarks. In another excellent outcome, and against the national trend, the performance gap between girls and boys narrowed to just 0.01, with almost identical progress achieved.

There were exceptional performances across the curriculum. In Physics, Mandarin and Performing Arts, 100% of students achieved grades 9 to 4, while in Biology, Chemistry, English Language, Media Studies, Religious Studies and Physical Education, over 80% achieved grades 9 to 4. These results reflect the talent, dedication and ambition of our students, supported by the expertise and commitment of our staff.

Most students will now continue their studies in our thriving Sixth Form, which also celebrated another year of excellent results. Others will move on to college, apprenticeships or employment. Whatever their next steps, we are confident they are well prepared for future success.

As students receive their GCSE and Level 2 results, we remain committed to providing support and guidance as they plan their next stage. We are incredibly proud of all they have achieved.

Together we succeed, and together we celebrate.
